Ensuring that no matter where our young people live, VSK are supporting them and listening to what they want and need. Pupil Premium Plus funding was offered to our OOC special schools and Harford Manor in Norwich took up our offer to transform an uninspiring area of the school into a stunning sensory area.
Matt Frost at Harford Manor School said “The aim was to create a calming and welcoming place for the students to take a time out for self-regulation when needed, with a ‘bedroom feel’ and it has proved a huge success both for X and his peers, who have been using the space for self regulation, reflection, reward and leisure times in equal measure!”
Here are some pictures of the completed sensory area, including some of the pupils enjoying the space!
Amanda Ormond, VSK Senior Education Support Officer for Out Of County Young People said “it bought a tear to my eye to see how happy the young people are with it!”
